Langkawi 3D2N Vlog Uploaded

Image
Hey I just uploaded my first vlog to my youtube channel. This was my first time making a travel vlog. I've done a few videos before, drama for literature, church life review etc and now I've tried making a travel vlog. I feel glad to be able to finish it because I lose interest easily. This was kinda like a small achievement for me and I hope there're more to come. I'll try to make more videos for every trip I go and keep them as memories. Next week I'll probably go to Butterworth with some of my friends. At first I have second thought because I've spent a lot money in Ipoh trip and Langkawi trip but I think I will spend less in Butterworth since I'll be staying at my friend's house so the expenses for accommodation and transportation can be cut down. There're about 3 weeks left until study break so I really hope I can spend more time with my friends since we'll be enrolling in different courses after foundation studies. The only thing that

Class Photoshooting Day

Image
For foundation year, we have to make an e-magazine so every class have to provide some class photos to be shown on the e-magazine. My class just had our photoshoot session yesterday. We took some photos of us wearing lab coat as formal photo and some photos which we were wearing our class tee. After taking class photos, some friends of mine decided to take some photos of ourselves. We wanted  to take creative photos but not much ideas came across our minds so we only managed to take 2 types of photos lol. This is my fav photo. Second fav.  This was actually Xin Hui's idea Wearing lab coat for formal photo Jun likes to take selfie We're wearing our class tee

Wan Roti Canai Beratur

While having dinner with Xin Hui, Pei Rong, Shumin, Joshua and Jun last night, Jun decided to go home to take his nametag so we had an impromptu trip to Alor Setar. We wanted to eat roti tampal there since we didn't manage to try it on Monday before coming back to Aimst from Langkawi. Seriously all the roti tasted so nice, we ordered roti pisang, roti kaya, roti planta and 3 roti tampal. It's my first time trying roti tampal. Roti tampal is basically a roti with a fried soft boiled egg on top of it. What makes it differ from roti telur is that the egg wasn't cracked into the dough but instead it's cracked directly onto the pan and it's brought to half raw. According to Jun, this stall is quite repute in this area. We actually qued for about 15 mins to get our order placed. He said that time was not even the peak hour and it was the time when the least people come to eat. Overall it was a satisfying supper for me. Although the roti didn't look appealing t

中马式 | The Alley Cafe

Image
This week is the 8th week of my semester 3. After calculating the days which I'm still able to meet my classmates, excluding weekends, study break and exam week, the result is...... 22 days!! *suddenly feeling a sense of sadness* It always happens that when we just start to become close with a bunch of friends, we'll soon realize that it's already around the time when we're about to separate. I'm really sad right now tbh. I can't imagine the moment when we enroll in different degree courses, will we still be able to wave to each other when we meet without being awkward? Will we still tag each other whenever we see funny posts on facebook? Will we still hangout right after tutorial without much consideration?  Let's get back to the point, I wanna blog about my food trip yesterday actually. It was an impromptu outing (my fav). Our first stop was a seafood restaurant (中马式). The food here are good and the price is reasonable so this was actually my 4th time

Overstepped Cafe

Image
After hours of non-stop writing, finally I've done my Biology lab report and have some time to blog about the cafe I went with my friend (Joshua) yesterday. What's better than having a friend to ask you out when you're craving for good food? Haha so yesterday I went to Overstepped Cafe which is located quite far away from my campus, about 15km away. This cafe is located near the toll station but I can tell this cafe has its reputation here despite its not-strategic-location which is away from town. Why? Because the moment we got into the cafe, what welcomed us was the noise of people chit chatting. For a second I thought I was in a kopitiam rather than a cafe because it was really noisy inside. It was around 2.30pm when we reached but many tables were occupied even though it's not lunch hour. Fortunately, we managed to be seated at a table for 2. I ordered Fat Elvis , which is beef burger with grilled banana with the spread of peanut butter. For drinks, I got mysel

Diary #1

Finally I'm done with my assessment week yesterday. It's time to take some rest after being stressed for the whole week. However, rest is only for awhile because next week onward, I'll have to deal with many presentations, basically I'll be having presentations for 3 Science subjects. So far, my to-do-list only includes Biology lab report and Physics presentation powerpoint. For the lab report, I think I'm gonna use an entire day to get it done lol so I'll do it on weekends. For the powerpoint for presentation, I'm actually waiting for my teammates to send their slides to me so that I can compile it. Next weekend, I will be having a trip to Langkawi with my friends, which are around 20 of them, quite many right but actually I'm not close with all of them, only few of them are my closed friends which are from my class. Most of them are from other classes. I'm kinda looking forward to this trip because I think I'll definitely have lots of fun

Mother's Day

Image
Many things changed after we started college, we started to appreciate our time spent with family. So basically the day before yesterday was Mother's Day. My family usually seldom celebrate any occasion back then, including Chinese New Year, Birthday etc. During CNY, we usually have our family trip to other places because this is the only time when all of us are free from studies and work. You might think my family is weird lol but we really seldom focus on those festivals. Sometimes we do but it's just some gift giving on my birthday when I was younger. For the past few years in secondary school, I didn't really plan on doing or what on Mother's Day. I didn't buy anything or say anything :/ I can remember vividly when I was at the age of 7 or 8, I stayed up late with my brother to make a card for our mom. After we've done it, we put it along with a paper carnation on the bedside in her room. This year, I decided to buy something for my mom from  Hermo .

Sense of Belonging

In a blink of an eye, today is the last day of lecture before my mid-sem test which is on the 7th week. It means that there're only 7 weeks left after mid sem test before I graduate from foundation studies. Excluding study break and exam week, there're only 5 weeks left :( Until today, we've already gone through 9 months of studies and I actually enjoy my foundation year. As a matter of fact, we all need our own social circle in college so that we can have the sense of belonging. Surprisingly, up until now, it seems to me that most of us are still looking for our circle in the batch. I've seen so many people changing their closed friends from sem 1 to sem 2 and still changing in sem 3. It really surprised me that it actually takes so much time to really find the real friends who you wanna hang out with. It's even harder when you have many different circle of friends and none of them know each other, you have to choose who you wanna join. In sem 1, most of u

Little Thoughts before mid sem test

I'm actually writing this in physics lecture class lol. It's gonna be a busy day for me today because I have a lot of tasks to be done. I actually have an undone chemistry folio which I'm supposed to hand in on Friday, maths assignment which I have to hand in tomorrow, bio tutorial which we will be discussing tomorrow, not to mention the revisions that I've to do for the mid sem test next week. I also haven't started doing the maths tutorial which will be discussed later at 2pm. The reason behind all these undone tasks is because I went out with friends last night. If I didn't go out then I might be able to finish at least chemistry folio and maths assingment, and maybe maths tutorial as well. In case you ask me do I regret going out last night, the ans is 'No.' Of course studies are more important than hanging out with friends but I don't think the price of having fun is that I will be left behind. Even if I'm left behind, I will try to incr

Tuapan + Satay + Tomyam

Image
Recently I tried tuapan with some of my friends.  I've heard about this dish for a long time but never got a chance to try it. This dish has good reputation among the locals but I totally have no idea about what it is. As far as I know, they start operating at 6pm and end at 7pm when they finish selling. The stall is owned by my friend's relatives so she helped us to reserve a table. We reached there at 6.30pm but it took half an hour for the dish to be served. Surprisingly, tuapan is actually (or similar to) what we call as 'watanho' in Sabah and maybe in other states as well but the noodles used might be a lil bit different . After searching through the Internet, I got to know that tuapan is actually a type of noodles (broader version of kueyteow).  Tuapan was stir-fried with black sweet soy sauce to give a tint of burnt taste (wok hei) and it's served with chicken slices, fish slices, fried fish slices, prawns, fish ball and some vegetables. The fish was ver
