Koek Kee Dimsum Restaurant(國記茶樓)

Image
2 more days to the day I go home. I've waited so long to be back to hometown because I crave for my hometown food so badly. Also, I'll be visiting my relatives in Sandakan which is my mom's hometown. I'm quite looking forward to the trip. It'll be a great chance for me to hunt for local food. The last time I've been there was more than 10 years ago. So tonight I'm gonna share about a dimsum restaurant in Sungai Petani, which is Koek Kee Restaurant(国记茶楼). I've been there for 3 times ever since I first came to SP in 2015. The restaurant is fully occupied by elderlies and we seemed like the only younger ones. From here we can definitely tell that this restaurant has been operated for decades so it's the most popular spot for the locals to eat dimsum. Personally, I think there wasn't many choices for dimsum. However, the dimsum size is quite big so we felt full after eating only few plates. We're all amazed by the time it took ...

Joshua turns 19 | Takeno Japanese Restaurant

It's been 3 weeks since I started my degree. There's not much assignments so far, only 2 for ESAP, which are critical thinking and critical review so I'm quite free to blog recently. I spent a lot of time on sleeping these days since the orientation night. We spent 6 hours playing 8 stations that day and got so dirty. There're flour, tootpaste, yogurt, sand, coffee and many more all over our faces and clothes. It was definitely and unforgettable one.  Tomorrow will be Joshua's big day but we got him a surprise party at Takeno Japanese Restaurant today. Last night some of us already surprised him by pouring on him a pail of mixture of water, flour, spaghetti sauce, milk powder and soil. We also bought him a birthday cake and sang birthday song. Little did he know that we have a bigger plan ahead which is more surprising because there'll be more people joining us. I bought the chocolate oreo cake from Bonjour Bread . I like the design because it...

I'm officially a degree student!

After one and a half months of rest, finally I started my campus life as a degree student in Aimst University. I really didn't feel like blogging when I was at home, probably because there're lots of things I can do other than blogging, like watching movies/drama, going out with mom, hanging out with friends and of course catching pokemon haha. Actually most of the time I don't feel like going out, partly because I was lazy to drive and another reason is that.... I was lazy haha. I still manage to meet some of my secondary school classmates in KK, most of them are leaving KK soon for degree. It's weird that even when I was bored at home and don't know what to do, I still don't feel like blogging but once I came back to campus, *blogging mode ON*. I really have nothing much to do in campus, we can either go out to eat or play sports in campus. This week I can actually go to Penang since we all are still free this week but I wanna cut down expenses and start ...

Lollipop Cafe

3 more days to my final exam!! Can't wait to get this over so I can go back to hometown to eat good foooood. Elaine, Jowen, and many other of my secondary school classmates had their trip to Kundasang yesterday, but I'm stuck here facing books. How I wish I could be there with them, the last time 4 of us actually meet was during March last year, it's been more than a year. But I did meet them separately in KL and KK, just that 4 of us didn't meet together. Okay back to the main topic. I wanna share about my breakfast at Lollipop Cafe yesterday with Joshua. This was our first date since the day we're official, a breakfast date. Not really a date, just that I begged him to bring me out for breakfast yeah that's it. It's located near  Overstepped Cafe  which was quite far away from my campus, near the Sungai Petani selatan toll exit. When we arrived it's around 7am so there're many seats. Around 8am people started coming and most of them order...

Birthday Celebration | Country Road Cafe

Image
Xin Hui's birthday is actually on 20th July but we'll not be around that time so here came the idea of birthday celebration in advance. We all will be in hometown in July. Guess what? We only started planning this surprise the night before :x I think it'll be sad for her if all of us in 'TripleBond' had our birthday celebrated except her. It was considered a successful one anyway. She was surprised when we went into the cafe holding the cake as she was dining with roommates. The cake is GOOD. It's dark chocolate flavour and it's not too creamy like those cakes which look very messy after cutting into slices. Madascar Cake from Bread History, RM36 Looked so perf after cutting I like their menu because the descriptions for every dish were listed so we know how's the dish like and we can order based on our taste Cute menu they have I tried mushy mushy pizza. It's a tomato based pizza topped with saute onion, herbs, mushroom with c...

C4 Class Dinner | The Boss Cafe | Blackwood Cafe

Image
Time flies, I still can't get used to the fact today was the last day of lecture week for my foundation year, it means that no more impromptu outing for us oh no. Since this was the last week, my class had our class dinner this Tuesday at The Boss Cafe. I thought it's compulsory for every class to organize this dinner but actually it wasn't, I get to know that other class didn't have their class dinner, seems like only our class did. YAY!  This was my second time dining at The Boss. Last time I went there I was also with C4 classmates but didn't feel like going for the second time. Some suggested this place since it's halal so yeah, we went there again. Many of us ordered the same dish since we all wanna try out Cheesy Chicken Chop , which was given high rating by others. However, one of my friend's chicken chop was still raw, I mean the flour covering the chicken was not cooked so he got a new one again. Free chicken wings and fries for first 50 s...

Kangnaru Korean Restaurant

Image
Okay I had a not-so-impromptu impromptu outing again. My roommate and I actually planned to go out either on Saturday or Sunday but too bad we didn't manage to borrow a car because many of our friends were away from campus. Around 8pm it came to my mind that Jun maybe back in campus already so I quickly borrowed his car haha, so here started our outing. My roommate actually kinda craved for Japanese food and Korean food so we ended up going to a Korean restaurant, which was the restaurant where my friends celebrated my birthday this year.  I quite like this restaurant because the owner is a Korean so I guess the food was really authentic. For the last time we really ate a lot because there're many of us. This time, only 2 of us, we ordered toppoki ( teok bok ee ), which was stir fried rice cake with spicy sauce, fish cake and vegetable. At first we wanna ordered bi bim bap as well but then the rice was finished. Our meal came along with some side dishes as well, we had ki...
