Korea 2018 D2 (Gyeongbokgung Palace - Bukchon Village - Samcheong-dong - Myeongdong)

17/2
We started our day with Isaac toast. Isaac toast is quite famous. They had their first franchise in Malaysia few months ago but I never get to try it.

Breakfast of the day
Then we headed to Gyeongbokgung Palace at around 10am.  I was struggling whether to wear hanbok or not but ended up we didn't bc I think it'll be freezing cold. The temperature is about 1 to 2 degree Celsius that time. Another reason is that I was lazy to travel from the hanbok rental shop to gyeongbokgung. They're located at 2 different station.
Cute design at the subway station

Usually you can get free entry to Gyeongbokgung Palace if you wear hanbok but it's free entry for everyone that day due to CNY. We walked around and took pics. The palace was quite crowded so it's not easy to find a clean spot for pics.

Then we visit National Palace Museum of Korea which is just next to the palace. It's very warm and dark inside and everything was in Korean so I was not interested at all. I only wanna leave there asap hahaha. We walked around for awhile then left bc we couldn't understand a single thing.

After lots of walking it's time to feed the stomach! We had lunch at Tosokchon. It's famous for its ginseng chicken soup. We queued at the main shop initially but when it's our turn, we were told to go to another side because there're spaces there. It's just across a 'lorong'. Only then I knew they have 2 locations for the shop.

They even have chinese words

Intro of the meal
We ordered normal ginseng chicken soup and ginseng black chicken soup which cost more. We also ordered seafood pancake. They're enough for 5 of us bc there're glutinous rice inside the chicken soup so you'll be quite stuffed.

Then we headed to Bukchon Village for some sight seeing of the traditional Korean houses.

The area was too big so we simply walked around then headed to Samcheong-dong (三清洞). We walked so much there until my mom and brother's feet were painful.

We bought churros which I liked very much. I also got some socks for my friends bc they're so cute!

We got cheese churro and oreo churro I like both of them!
Bought takoyaki at the roadside
a spicy one
We walked for a really long way to reach Hanguk station. Then we headed to Myeongdong.

We're so tired after walking for the entire day plus the weather was so cold. We dined at明洞餃子. It's very special because it has only a limited options of food on the menu.

After dinner we walked around myeongdong and shopped. Mom was feeling unwell since the time we're at Bukchon village so we left myeongdong at 10pm bc she really needed to get some rest.
